History
Light Of The World International Ministries, formerly known as Light Of The World Christian Center, (hereinafter referred to as "LOTWIM") is an uncommon church with uncommon favor, commited to building people of purpose in a five-star manner. We are an innovative and progressive church with multiple locations, founded by the phenominal leadership of Pastor George G. & Lady Tamika D. Simmons on January 14, 2003.
Beginning in their home with just their immediate family, Pastor Simmons stepped out on faith knowing that God had called him to establish a presence in the City. After a few months, congregants began traveling from the outskirts of the City as well as neighboring counties.
Continuing to follow God's mandate for his life, Pastor Simmons sought God for a place to house the vision that God had given him for LOTWIM,. His teaching and preaching style was so electrifying and his wisdom and knowledge of the Word of God was well beyond his years that it compelled people to began spreading the Word.
This infant church had to be taught everything. The membership grew and God spoke and told him to commit his focus on building people of purpose. With that in mind, Light Ministries outreach was birthed for the purpose of developing the capabilities of individuals to benefit our community by providing spiritual guidance, economic support and service to the youth, elderly and their families. Along with that addition came various helps ministries.
"A Moment of Prophecy" broadcast was launched and aired weekly. This broadcast rapidly spread and reached people in Colleton County and surrounding areas.
In November 2004, the ministry moved to a rented storefront building located at 321 N. Walter Street in the heart of downtown Walterboro, South Carolina. Pastor Simmons has continued to hold his ground convinced that God had put them there. In November 2013, Light Of The World Christian Center expanded its ministry to a second location known as LOTWCC-East Campus with services temporarilyl held at the YMCA-Oakbrook, 900 Crosscreek Drive, Summerville, South Carolina.
Over the years, the minstry has continued to grow and God has blessed Pastor and Lady Simmons with the ability to create a shared vision amongst their devoted congregation.
